As our environment is not something to be taken advantage of, Centex makes a conscience effort to be earth friendly. With this, Centex is proud to furnish our amenity centers with gravel parking lots. Gravel parking lots are much more environmentally friendly than paved lots. Among other things, they minimize the amount of impervious surface (a solid surface that does not allow water filer run through) which reduces the amount of stormwater runoff. By having gravel, water is able go in to the ground keeping our impact on natural streams and wetlands at a minimum

Gravel parking lots can be found in neighborhoods such as The Ion and Old Village in Mount Pleasant as well as Centex’s communities Shell Ring and Carolina Bay. In addition to the earth friendly features, the traffic pattern design keeps vehicular speeds at a minimum for the safety of our homeowners and their children, as well as greatly reducing any dust associated with a gravel road.

i am a little disappointed with the slow progress of the amenity center, i was initially told it should be complete by march/april'08. glad to see that progress is moving along but wish my family could already be utilizing any of the facilities.

We completely understand. The weather related delay we had set us back from when we originally hoped to have it open. After that we did a slight redesign which required a little extra build time. We know this has been a bit of an inconvenience and are doing everything we can to have the amenity center open in the very near future. To celebrate the opening we are planning on having a neighborhood function there soon after it is open!

I am please with the changes to the amenity center. The kiddie park was an excellent idea! I only wish that there was a basketball court to be enjoyed by a variety of ages.
